Maria C. Piscopo, age 69, who lived in Brewster, and her late husband, Joseph, took over Johnny's Pizzeria in Mount Vernon from Joseph's father who started the business 76 years ago.
The three-vehicle crash occurred around 1 a.m. July 21.

While attempting to pull off onto the shoulder of the highway, Piscopo’s Denali was then rear-ended by a 2012 Izuzu box truck operated by Saed K. Alkasaji, 43, of Danbury, according to police.
Maria Piscopo was born on March 4, 1949 in Italy to Americo and Clementina Colabella.
Maria married Joseph Piscopo on May 9, 1970 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Joseph died in 2016.
